Leena Vell is the second of four children and the only daughter. Growing up Leena was known the have a rebellious streak and spent much of her childhood in trouble with her siblings, parents and teachers. It wasn’t until she turned fifteen that she settled down and began to take life and school more seriously.

Once focused Leena made up for lost time in a big way and swiftly became a model student. Joining a school sponsored debate club Leena was soon its captain and went on to lead her school to numerous championships. Her greatest achievement was during another school function when she unwittingly was drawn into a debate with the Martin MacLachlan, the Earth Ambassador to [[Trill]].
