[[Lertani IV]] is a [[Class M]]  [[planet]] orbiting a binary star pair in the [[Lertani System]].  It is home to the [[Lertani]], a humanoid species almost identical to [[Human]]s.  The planet has a varied and very Earth-like climate, despite it's unusual stellar parentage. The world has a vibrant hydrosphere, and is capable of sustaining a diverse ecology. The planet itself has 3 moons, one major, about the size of Earth’s [[Luna]], and two minor, roughly the 200 miles in diameter. The latter are possible captured asteroids, much like those orbiting [[Mars]].

In 2414, the [[USS Hades]] was dispatched to the planet to assist a [[Federation]] Cultural Scientific Survey Outpost, known as [[The House]],  with the recovery of one of their missing cultural scientists. As the native population of the planet is in a technological state of development similar to [[Earth]]'s early Medieval Period, there was a great deal of concern over possible cultural contamination and violation of the [[Prime Directive]].
