However things quickly precipitated into a conflict with the Borg leader, Volus opening a Temporal Vortex and jumping backwards in time. As a result the Kelman was too late to be instrumental in the battle and subsequent mission as it unfolded. Finding the two ships gone, Commander O'Neill left a relay beacon in place to maintain a vigil for the two vessels while conducting some scans of the system. | ||

When they were informed that the starbase was unable to accomodate their repair requirements, the Kelman took on the civilians from both ships, who had been staying on the starbase awaiting the return of the two damaged ships. The three vessels then continued on to Starbase Geneva where the Rosenante and the Boudicca were placed in repair slips. The Kelman remained at Starbase Geneva for a six month availability. | ||
