Nel III was one of two inhabited planets in the Nel star system. By 2368, political subdivisions on this planet included Alpha Municipality, Gray Municipality and Epsilon Municipality. Two medical installations were Taylor Hospital and Wiemer Medical Facility.
The planet reported two unexplained comas shortly after Ullian telepathic historian Jev's visit in the 2360s. They were later found to be a result of Telepathic Memory Invasion perpetuated by Jev. (TNG: "Violations")
