Montague was commissioned as an ensign (jg) in the Security department of the USS Templar, serving as a standard security officer, eventually reaching the rank of Ensign (sg). He was standoffish, and xenophobic in his dealings with the crew, characteristics that were taken advantage of by a protagonist, who framed the Xenexian for crimes that he didn't commit. Monatgue caught up with the supposed perpetrator of this crime before security could arrive, and attacked.
