A sizing scanner was a piece of equipment used by tailors in creating clothing.
In 2370, Quark falsely told Doctor Bashir that Elim Garak had approached him to acquire the best sizing scanner available, from Merak II, accurate down to the micrometer. (DS9: "The Wire")
