| In 2414, when the [[USS Rosenante]] and the [[USS Boudicca]] were assigned to investigate [[Borg]] activity on [[Dovek II]], Dolan was assigned to accompany a reconnaissance gathering mission under the command of [[Rank|Lieutenant Commander]] [[Robert Lorimar]]. During that mission, their runabout, the [[Lorimar Class Runabout|Lorimar]] was attacked by a [[Borg Pyramid]] and crashed on the inhospitable planet.

| Dolan survived the crash without serious injury and aided the survivors to elude Borg patrols searching for them. Dolan's time ran out however, when he was [[assimilation|assimilated]] by a [[Borg Drone]] during a small skirmish.

| Dolan, now converted to the will of the [[Borg Collective]] tried to assassinate Lorimar, but failed. In the ensuing struggle he was killed. Due to the situation on the planet, his body remained in situ on Dovek II.
