Editing Who'll Stop the Rain

With the USS Rosenante damaged during mission [[Sensory Overload]], [[Captain Sanok]] is being given a new command, the [[USS Starfire]] a [[Defiant class]] ship. A new ship also means lot of crew roster changes. Following the severe injuries to Lieutenant Commander [[Matrix]] and the re-assignements of several officers including Lieutenant Commander [[Tom Jackson]], Lieutenant [[Gan Nolar]]... a new senior staff is composed. Lieutenant [[Ayehla Zyahn]] from the USS Titanic is the new FO/CTact/CSec, Lieutenant S'yves from [[Starbase 989]] the new 2O/COPS and officer [[Wane Corey]] from the IKS Daikatana is the new CEO.

==A First Mission==

With a Vulcan as their captain, the new ship inauguration is shortened and on stardate 2414.11.07, the USS Starfire receives permission to leave Starbase 989 for its first cruise. After activities in the [[Silent Rift]] in the Lantaru Sector where they had found their current chief engineer, the USS Starfire is sent to patrol the sector. The Silent Rift as the particularity that subspace in this sector has permanent damage and warp travel is impossible. 

On their third day (stardate 2414.11.09), the USS Starfire receive a distress call. When they arrive in the sector, they detect two ships dead in space. One is a warship and the other a cargo transporter. Tactical analysis reveals the two ships belongs to the same specie, the Vinians. However, with most sensors using subspace, data about the ship is limited. 

The First Officer, Lieutenant Ayehla Zyahn, organize two away team. The First away team is composed of Lieutenant Ayehla, Lieutenant Corey, Ensign Signos and Ensign Andersen. Their task is to beam on board the warship and gather data about the attackers. The second away team is composed of Lieutenant S'yes, Ensign C'Nell, Ensign Skyfire and Ensign Gunn is given the task to investigate the reason of the attack, the cargo it contained being a potential reason for the attack.

==Pieces of the Puzzle==

Both away team lead their investigation on the two Vilnian ships. The first away team discover a Bridge where the officers seems to have been completely caught of guard by the intruders. The weapon used indicate projectile weapons, I odd choice of weapon. In engineering, trace of tempering are discovered when an exploded bomb is found close to one of the power source. The Chief Engineer and Chief Tactical officers gathers valuable information on the weapons residues. The First Officer also discover a saved copy of a ship recording revealing several small ships attacking the Vilnian ships. Identification of the attacker is impossible.

On the other away team, the assistant-chief medical officer make important discover about a residual compound coming from the cargo bay. A Vilnian survivor is also found and beamed back to the Starfire. 

The two away teams are recalled when a Vilnian battleship arrive in the vicinity. Despite how suspicious the USS Starfire may have looked, diplomacy is the mean chosen by the Vilnian, as their CO beam on board the Starfire to discuss the situation. Information are exchanged, but none can identify the attackers. 


==Recalled==

While resuming their search, [[Lieutenant Commander Steven Matrix]] arrives on the USS Starfire to announce that they must return to [[Starbase 989]]. A defect is detected in the USS Starfire hull.
