Physical Description: A handsome man in a plain looking way; clean shaven with short cropped hair, and a smirk usually on his face, and walks with the swagger of a true survivor.

Skills and Abilities: He has a working knowledge of small craft and infantry tactics; cargo and troop transport; smuggling and blockade running; he is also an accomplished pilot and tracker.

Family History:

  • Grandfather (Edward “Easy Ed” Raschen) is a retired bounty hunter, and is currently a consultant about small combat craft for (and co-owner of) Rash-1 Industries to shipyards throughout the Federation.
  • Father (Charles Tamblyn) was captured and executed as a federation spy on Romulus.
  • Mother (Margaret) is President/CEO of Rash-1 Industries, and runs the company from the family’s ranch in Texas, on Earth.
  • Born Chance Tamblyn, he changed his last name when he became a privateer in order to help better protect his family. Taking the Romanesque’ name “Temerarious” was the suggestion of a Romulan woman he knew during his travels before the war.

Pre-Starfleet History: After being denied entrance into Starfleet Academy because of who his grandfather and father were, Chance was accepted into the University of Hardknox. Upon graduation he received a commission from Rash-1 Industries as First Mate onboard the merchantman ship ROUGH RIDER. With the outbreak of the Cardassian-Federation War, Chance petitioned to become a privateer for the Federation. 45 days into the war, he was awarded the rank of Brevet-Captain and a Letter-of-Marque’ from the Federation Counsel which commissioned him to transport supplies and re-enforcements to Starfleet Intelligence units, Black-Ops Marines behind enemy lines; perform support operations for such units as needed; and capture or destroy enemy supply ships/convoys and harass enemy patrols by whatever means necessary. Upon receiving his commission, Temerarious immediately acquired a ship, the STAR HAWK (see notes for ship details). The Privateers were a group civilian starship captains with ships and crews of various sizes, and abilities that worked together on many of the Federation’s more clandestine interests of the war, and were used in many of Starfleet’s larger military operations as well. During wartime support operations Temerarious would use the STAR HAWK, as a scout ship, landing and extraction craft, air support, and for medical evacuation of wounded troops. Most operations consisted of working with other Privateers to attack enemy starships. In the final days of the Cardassian-Federation War, the Starfleet Admiralty invited members of the Privateers, captains and crewmembers alike, to join Starfleet. Brevet-Captain Chance Temerarious accepted the invitation; even though he was dubious as to the stability and merits of the Federation in the post-war galaxy. Yet, while accepted into Starfleet, Temerarious continued to maintain ownership/control of his ship and Letter-of-Marque. This allowed him to take part in “peacekeeping” operations with Starfleet Intelligence, and Marine Units during school breaks, which counted towards his field training requirements.

Starfleet History: 2407.02.15 Operations Officer, U.S.S. DENNISON Notes: Temerarious (t m -râr - s) is defined as reckless. Captain Davis of the U.S.S. DENNISON has allowed Chance to keep his ship, and Letter-of-Marque. STAR HAWK; FPV-1273 (Federal Privateer Vessel) was originally to be the last ship (RASH-1 being the first) that Ed Raschen would use as a bounty hunter. Designed and built by Rash-1 Industries; STAR HAWK is based on the Marquis’ Raider-class design ships, but with obvious design differences such as the lack of wings and the smaller size (in meters: 30L-20W-8H). Enhanced with stronger framing, armor and shields; more powerful maneuvering jets, impulse engines, phasers, photon torpedoes, sensors, and warp engines; the STAR HAWK has the speed and power of many capital ships with the maneuverability of most fighter craft at sub-warp speeds. Throughout the ship, there is berthing for a crew of 6, storage lockers, hidden compartments, cargo area, engineering compartments, even an emergency (1 person) transporter, and medical kits; yet has enough open space to transport a platoon of armed troops into combat, and is small enough to land in most starship shuttle bays, and is able to use a universal docking collar if necessary.
