The "Nelvana Incident" could have been a mission played by the USS Mithrandir.

Summary[edit]

The latest discoveries on the Subspace River and its ramifications have been a issue of particular concerns for different factions. With ships travelling at warp 9.9999, it has become impossible to efficiently patrol and protect the border. If the Treaty of Algeron has remained an efficient treaty for more than a century, the situation has changed considerably. Foreseeing the inevitability of a new treaty, and the years of negotiation that it will required, the Romulan Empire and the Federation has been in contact for several weeks now to initiate the first talk among many to come. After thorough discussion between their political leaders , a first diplomatic talk is finally agreed on between the two factions, to be held in the Neutral Zone over the planet Nelvana. Five ships on each side is allowed to attend the meeting, while all the other ships has to remain behind the Neutral Zone. Vice-Admiral Sinatra, and Ambassador Rhalk Tamir are leading the diplomatic mission on the Federation side, while Admiral T'Larod and Ambassador Ne'ran are the leaders on the Romulan side. If this talk is just preliminary, both factions realized what would be discussed might have an important impact on the future of the two factions and of the quadrant.

To lead the first talk, Ambassador Rhalk Tamir and Vice-Admiral Sinatra are given the responsibility of preparing and leading the talks. The Vice-Admiral Sinatra task force is called on starbase 39 where the mission will be thoroughly prepared. But with what happened in 2407 to the USS Hades, the question remain : what is the real intention of the Romulan?

After spending the last hours in a temporal anomaly caused by the Station Echo One Zero, that sent them six months in the past, the USS Mithrandir has just succeeded getting back to its timeline. With the orders to debrief with Admiral Jopek, the USS Mithrandir is heading to Starbase Geneva. While on his way, Lieutenant Syuvik, who has taken command since Captain Alexander has been medically relieved of duty due to a serious illness, is contacted by Starfleet. With Romulan talks being prepared over Nelvana III, Vice-Admiral Sinatra, who is in short-leave on Riga, is given charge of the diplomatic mission, and the USS Mithrandir, the closest ship to Riga, is ordered to pick him up and head to Starbase 39. Captain Will Alexander, being extremely sick, is leaving and Vice-Admiral Sinatra assume command of the USS Mithrandir.
