Fleet Update

The USS Spectre has been ordered by Fleet Command to the Class M world Ushar Prime, the home world of the Ushari situated close to Theta Draconis & approximately midway between the Ferengi alliance & the Cardassian Union. Prior to the Civil war, Ushar was a reliable & leading producer of Dilithium which it traded to the Federation in exchange for the complex weather control equipment it needed to maintain the surface climate of their world. Following the Civil War however & as a direct response to seriously depleted stocks, a request for an increased shipment of Dilithium by the Federation was met with an unexpected silence. A second request produced an announcement from the Ushari minister for commerce that the Ushari would be unable to meet it's request either now, or for the foreseeable future.

The Spectre's mission is thus:

Travel to the Ushari system, investigate the situation, rectify any problem & re-establish trade. There are however, complications in the form of an unexpected & perhaps dangerous benefactor.

Current Mission Overview

The USS Spectre has departed Earth Station McKinley en route to the area of space known as Theta Draconis, lying roughtly forty Two light years from the Sol system. It is known already that both the Ferengi Alliance & the Cardassian Union have disputed claims on a number of planets in the area, so tension is high that there may be interference from either in regards our current mission.

Travel time at warp eight is approximately fifteen days. Detailed information is skant & unreliable leaving the Spectre crew somewhat in the dark over precisely what they will find upon their arrival.

Status Report

"Captains Log, Stardate 2408.02.17..... 21:00hrs."

"After beaming down to the surface of Ushar Prime, negotiations have begun. As yet, Prime Minister Ung'Hst is reluctant to move away from what he see's as an admirable situation for his people. I have ordered the away team members to gather as much information on dilithium dealings as we are able, scouring library resources, planetary newsfeeds and by simply talking to those on the gound."

"During this task, Lieutenant Commander Brian Rogers, currently assigned to the Spectre as a Starfleet Intelligence Officer, has managed to encounter hostility resulting in himself receiving a phasor butn via Ushari Metro police Security Officers. However, his 'stunt' has uncovered further evidence of Cardassian involvement here, Prime Minister Ung'Hst has received the news badly but has agreed to work with us on finding out exactly what is going on here, in particular the evidence uncovered that is pointing to an Ushari internal security leak."

"On another note, Lieutenant Commander Calvin Capps has been returned to Starbase Geneva pending medical assessement in connection with the loss of his family during the civil war crisis....... End of log"

Ship's History

The USS Spectre is what is known as a Black Ops vessel, this means that when a mission calls for covert operations, particularly beyond enemy lines or in enemy space, the Spectre is the ship that is called upon. She is unique in the fleet in that she is fitted with a phased cloak in order that she may carry out these most special of missions. The Spectre fights the "war without a fleet", in the Federation Civil War.

She is currently under the command of Captain T'Vhor who was promoted to Captain after her previous Captain Remae Ktell was involved in a landmine incident on the occupied planet Betazed which cruelly robbed him of his lower limbs. Commander Michael Ian O'Conner is her current First Officer & Lieutenant Andrew Williams is her Second Officer.

More then One?

Yes, there is more then one USS Spectre buzzing around, 3 in the current universe, I wanted to get 1 back from the Alt Timeline Utopia Planitia the last time we played it, circa 2402-2404, of course, we brought it in the current timeline along with all the members of Utopia Planitia, gee... confusing much?

The other Spectres? At least one of them is a long, long way away in the Gamma Quadrant, if memory serves... the other? No idea, maybe I need to think something up? :)
